Baby Update :)

What’s new around here? Well things have been busy and strangely enough this week I feel like I have just been hit with a truck. Not that unusual but it’s been worse than normal so hmmm wondering what’s going on.

Anyway, I updated on facebook but forgot to tell the result of my last dr’s appointments and tests so here we go. The ultrasound went great. Baby boy A is the way he always is, head down low and still on my right. Baby girl B is breech which means that she is bottom down and head up. She is a troublemaker already always stealing her brother’s space heehee. (Sounds like she’ll be just like Maddy!)
Diabetes came back NORMAL!!! 6.1 YAY! There was some sugar in my u.r.i.n.e. but I wasn’t feeling well at all that morning so that could explain it. We will just keep watching and if it happens again I might need to re-take the test. Last time I was borderline and so I chose to monitor and correct any issues through diet voluntarily. I really hope I stay clear of it this time, not only was that not fun but the lady at the diabetes clinic I reported to was a real drill seargent, she was brutal. Even one high number in a month and she was lecturing me. Seriously woman you should see what I eat when I’m not pregnant, your healthy little world would just explode LOL! It’s a good thing I crave healthy stuff while I’m preggo.
My blood pressure is creeping up a bit, the lower number I guess, so that is just something to watch, nothing too bad at this point.

Doc gave me a prescription (just in case I needed it) for massage/ physiotherapy for my back. He said that may be what I need to help my problems. He also said that the cramps that I am having are Braxton Hicks and as long as they aren't registering as contractions and my cervix is fine at my ultrasound they're normal, especially for having 2 babies stretching my belly.

I have gained the usual, about a pound per week. Not too bad for 2 they say.

I have another appointment Monday the 29th so I will update then again.

Online Shopping ;)

So lately I have become an ebay buying junky, or online buying at least, cuz ya know I can’t forget Etsy too. Oh how I love Etsy!!!! I showed you the new backup bunny I got off ebay so let’s now show off some of my other purchases, just for fun. Here’s a gooder…it’s a maternity belt, VERY s.e.x.y. LOL!!!!

Seriously I have only worn it about 2 times cuz it’s not that great when I sit all day (the babies are really really low) but if I need to go out and shop and stuff it will help a teensy bit and hey we all know being too s.e.x.y. is what got us into this situation isn’t it?! ROFLMBO!!! SOOOOOO KIDDING!!!

I also got this baby from ebay a few weeks ago!

It's the Skip Hop Duo Double and it's a diaper bag made just for twins! I am so happy cuz EVERY Canadian online store I checked was out of it and it was really irritating me. So I did get a bit of a deal through ebay and the seller also threw in a few other nice things too so that was a plus. :) When I told my hubby that it had 16 pockets we was like…yeah so what. HELLO?! 16 pockets, a multiple mother’s dream! He was also rather amused that it was taking me so long to decide the night I bid on it , I told him I am not deciding I am looking in every canadian online store before putting my ebay bid higher to make sure I don’t pay too much for it. That WAS true but he also knows me well, I tend to have a hard time deciding on things and if you don’t think that could be possible look over some of my posts. ROFLMBO!!! Poor poor man.

And lately I have had the hankering to try my hand at making silver stamped jewelry. I haven’t really broken down and purchased all of the supplies (because they are quite expensive) but I did buy some and can’t wait to try them out for myself! I had a great idea for a little Etsy business (actually 2) and even though stamped jewelry is quite popular nowdays this little idea is something I couldn’t find when looking for something myself and I think it’s quite cute unique and clever. Now my only problem is execution and finding the time heehee. Since I’m a slow mover I wouldn’t want to tell you all and have you make it before I could so it’s stayin a secret for now. Yeah cuz the whole world reads my blog and steals my craft ideas! ROFLMBO!!!

Ok what else? I still need to buy a couple new nursing bras. I found the ones I bought here locally (like $115 or something crazy like that for one) online for like half to two thirds that price so I am definitely going to be ordering 2 of those for when the babies come. I’ll spare you the pic though HAHAHAHAHA!!! Well it wasn’t me modeling it anyway but ya know between the belt and then the bra I thought that may be a bit over the top.

Miscellaneous

So why is it that this time (and last) all the weight goes right to my face and other places it shouldn't. Ugh. Seriously I feel like I look ok in the mirror but when I see pictures of myself I realize that my face looks awful! I can deal with the belly but it would be nice to at least look somewhat attractive, just with a cute belly KWIM? UGH! I know there are other things to think and worry about but it's still hard not to get depressed by how you look. On top of it all I am outgrowing all of my maternity clothes from last time, I can't really get any ones bigger, even in the city 1 1/2 hours away from me. I don't know what I will be wearing in a month or so but it definitely won't be what I am wearing now. Ahhh the joys of pregnancy.

I am 27 weeks today and yay for getting this far, guess I should just concentrate on that good news and the babies awesome weights!

I got my computer back, they really didn't say much except that it was fine but windows needed to be reinstalled. Uhhh yeah I know I tried multiple times and it wouldn't work! Whatever! So $126 later it's home and I am hoping to get it somewhat set up today so I can edit and post some pics from the recent birthdays etc. So that means there will be lots of posts with pictures to catch up on soon! Yay!

I will finish off with Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband and dad!!!! I hope your days are filled with love and family!

Kelsey turns 11! WOW!

Wow I can’t believe that my oldest is 11. Kelsey is sure growing up. I don’t usually post much about her since she’s older and I wouldn’t want to embarrass her if she or her friends stumbled across this blog but since it’s her birthday I will throw that out the window for today. Heehee. ;)

There are so many things about Kelsey that I don’t want to forget. She is quite the character. ;) We are always telling her that she is weird, her retort…if I wasn’t weird I wouldn’t be me. Heehee, so so true!

For more than a year now she has been wearing different colored socks on each foot. I don’t know why, she says she likes it but I also think she figured out it takes less time to put the socks away if you don’t match them and less time getting ready if you don’t look for matched ones. That doesn’t sound like Kelsey at all. ;) She also has quite the unique sense of fashion. Many times we have to ask her to change before we leave the house. It’s not that she’s dressed badly in the traditional sense of things but that she mixes and matches things that don’t go together. Stripes and polka dots and plaid and camo all in one outfit LOL…again if she weren’t weird she wouldn’t be Kelsey and she’s so right. :)

Kelsey is also a lot like me at that age in that she talks……a lot! It is always an issue in class as it was always an issue for me so I guess she comes by it honestly. (I have to say now…I’m, so sorry mom and dad LOL!) I think it’s because of this chattering that she excels in Language arts and spelling too.

Kelsey is also a very talented artist! She can draw like nobodies business! Seriously! We are trying to encourage her to become a graphic designer for her future. I wish I could draw like that! She is always showing us her newest pictures and I am just amazed by how good she is, there is definitely natural talent there. She also loves to do any kind of arts and crafts too. A girl after momma’s heart.
Another thing that I think shows Kelsey’s true heart is that even on non special occasions you may find a note put on your pillow with a “present” on it (usually one of her stuffies) just saying how much she loves you. She’s such a sweetie at heart, even though these pre teen and teen years can be tough, that little bit of her is always still there. She has done this for as long as I can remember and it always makes me smile.

Kelsey is an AWESOME big sister! And if you can’t take our word for it Maddy’s actions speak louder than words. The first person to get a laugh from Mads was Kelsey, the first person to get a smile from her was Kelsey and on and on. There is a bond there like no other and it is sooooo awesome to see. Maddy sure thinks the world of her big sissy already and I just know she will in the future too!

When talking to Kelsey’s principal one day I heard something that made me quite happy. She complimented Kelsey on how she owned up to her part in any issues. Saying that she was quick to take ownership of her faults and actions when the issue warranted it. That was such a nice compliment to know that Kelsey had been listening and acting as we had taught her all these years. Again it just goes to show the true heart of this little one (ok not really little but you know what I mean) she really truly cares and is so very genuine.

And as much as I love my big girl Kelsey I miss the little girl Kelsey too. The one that was such a happy little thing. The one who at 2 would go up to other kids at the video store and hug and kiss them. The one who when she got excited before she could really talk would make a sound like dooga-dooga-dooga. (Just like Maddy’s flailing arms man, my weird girls LOL!) I miss the sweet cuddles and kisses and hilarious remarks that she used to make (although she still makes those). And even though I miss all those things I now have a beautiful, sweet, genuine and caring growing girl who has taken her place to love as well and that is wonderful too! Happy 11th birthday Kelsey! We love you SO much!

More Computer Woes

So I tried re installing XP last night and it seemed like it was, then after 2 hours it said it was done and yet again...Error Loading Operating System ugh! So I guess I will be without a real computer for a bit. At least I have my netbook (YAY for that little gem!)  but no photo editing capability again so rather than post Maddy's birthday recap without pictures I will just wait til I am back up and running again. Which is hopefully sooner than later. ;) Shed a tear for me folks LOL!

Computer Woes :(

Ugh so my computer woes continue to plague me. Sometime last week this beloved box of mine started acting up. I tried all night to fix it and when I couldn’t I gave up and turned it off. When I came home from work the next night and turned it on I was so happy to see it back to life, alas that was short lived! I am so sad that it’s not working right. At least I have my netbook or I would go crazy but even it has been having troubles. Weird huh?

It seems (seemed) as though everytime I tried to fix either one using a system restore point that Windows would run an update and the problems would magically reappear. I am thinking that this is what caused the problem to begin with. Now my netbook seems fixed (thank goodness) but not my beloved big ole box.

Without photoshop I can’t edit my girlies 1st birthday pictures or do any layouts. I tried to see if I could do a repair install of XP and no go. That is not an option when I put the XP disk in. Then it seemed to come up saying something about a bad partition, I can’t remember. I googled it and it wasn’t good. And the newest thing…well it just starts up to a black screen that says it can’t load the operating system.
I am thinking I have to do a complete install of XP and lose everything. Now, everything extremely important is backed up thank goodness (!!!!!) but that still leaves me without my favorites (which is a huge list and will never be the same again), all my photoshop settings etc will be put back to square one, (NOOOOOO!!!) not to mention my other programs and all my software will have to be reloaded…one by one. UGH! And I am hoping that this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t, well I don’t even want to think about that cuz I will cry. Hopefully I can edit the photos some other way and also hopefully I can get the computer to work by reformatting and reinstalling XP. Here’s to hoping. ;)

Happy 1st Birthday Madison!!!

Miss Maddy is a whole one year old today. I just can’t believe it. What a precious, sweet, mischievous, troublemaker, beautiful, smart, wonderful little girl! We are trying to make the day fun and ignore all of our usual weekend chores so I don’t have much time to post today. We went to the local lake/park to play for 2 1/2 hours and she had a ton of fun there. Then it was naptime and so we were busy wrapping presents and running out to get the cake for our little family celebration tonight. Next is dinner and the yummy cake! I will definitely post a better update tomorrow. This day is too special to spend it in front of my computer screen. :) Love you my beautiful Miss Maddy!!!

HELP, we are drowning in logistics and can’t seem to find our way out, seriously!

First off let me say that Maddy will be 15 months by the time these babies arrive and that is if they go to full term which they won’t, they induce at 38 weeks if you haven’t already delivered. So she will more likely be 14 months. Given that she barely crawls much at almost 12 months I would say she may not even be walking yet at 14 months and even if she is she won’t be able to walk the mall or Walmart so we are in a pickle. Sooooo I need HELP deciding or at least opinions on our options. Poor hubby, I think I confuse him more (and irritate him but that’s a whole other post LOL).

Our problem…momma taking 3 little ones out of the house alone. Here are the options and the issues associated with each.

First off what we already own.
We purchased a baby trend snap and go stroller frame. These are lightweight (much more so than the double strollers) and can accommodate 2 infant car seats.

Of course when the infants move to regular carseats we would need a new double stroller. Not sure if we would want a side by side or tandem yet at this point. And again we already own this one but the box is unopened so if we decide to not use it I will try to sell it on facebook rather than try to drive up to Calgary and return it.

The next option
If we will have to buy a new stroller after the babies grow out of their infant car seats anyway (which Maddy did by about 8/9 months) then maybe we should just buy one of the double strollers now and sell the above thus saving us $100 (although the new stroller would be $250 at least) to use just the snap and go when the double strollers already have that feature too.

The third option
All of the above are great options…if you only have 2 children who aren’t capable walkers…but we will have 3 and I am no hulk Hogan to be carrying Maddy around all the time so we thought that this 3rd option might be good. (We in fact drove to Lethbridge this weekend to try and see it in person and measure it etc only to find out that they don’t carry it ugh!) Anyway, there is also the Joovy Big Caboose.

This stroller can carry 2 infant carseats and has a platform on the back where a third child can sit (no backrest though) or stand. YAY we have found our solution. Wait a minute…Maddy will only be 14 months and the manufacturer says 2 ½ years, ok squeaking their age limit you could probably do it at 2 years. Uhhh by the time Maddy is 2 years the twins will be out of their infant seats and she would be able to walk better anyway. So do we get this one that still won’t help us much right now?

The fourth option…a Triplet stroller
Well finding a triplet stroller would be great, if it fit in our van it would solve all our problems BUT you try finding one in Canada! If you can find one the shipping will kill you and if you find a good one in the states not only will the shipping kill you but will your Canadian car seats (even if they are the same manufacturer) fit to snap in? (Using American car seats is prohibited by law so we can’t purchase the matching car seats except from Canada). Now on to the best part…….they are an arm and a leg, heck if we could sell the twins we still wouldn’t have enough to pay for one! (LOL just kidding we are NOT selling the twins or any of our other children I will become a pack mule and carry them all on my back before we do that! Well, Kelsey is a bit big to do that with so I guess she should walk but she still isn’t for sale heehee!) Anywho I digress. Wanna see what we wish we could afford? It even has a steering wheel! I AM NOT JOKING! ROFLMBO!!!!

It’s the perfect solution to our troubles however it comes with a $1200 pricetag American and the seats that may(because again they would be the Canadian version) fit in it are $300 each so honestly that would be around $2000 just so mommy could get out of the house by herself. UGH, not….going….to….happen (unless we win the lotto) so we can just forget this option all together. Although I have to admit I still look and drool heehee.

Sooooooo now that I have thoroughly confused you all let me throw some more in to the mix. Yesterday hubby was going to order the carseats cuz they are on sale. We are going to go with the Graco snugride this time because our Graco safeseat (now rebranded as Snugride 32) was way too big and heavy and Maddy didn’t stay in it long enough to take advantage of the extra weight it could hold.

So again, we have 2 options which really hinge on what we do above. We could get last years model which are on clearance for only $99 bucks each woo hoo a bargain, and I love the colors. BUT If we do decide to get a matching double stroller instead of using our stand alone frame we can’t get a matching stroller as these are being cleared out due to new stock.

We could however wait to see if the other color we like will go one sale, they are $159 now, and then we could also get the matching stroller that I showed above.

BUT hubby was thinking that once the twins grow out of their infant car seats we would get a triple side by side jogging type stroller for all 3 so should we just wait then on the double one and once they outgrow the frame then we move them to that one? Well that’s fine but if Maddy is older then would she really need a stroller? (Only for times when I am alone, ie short trips to the grocery store.) UGH probably not plus even that stroller is about $1000 bucks too which if we can’t afford that price tag now we certainly won’t be able to while I’m on mat leave. So now we don’t know which carseats to buy either.

My last and final option
Use the carts at the store and only go to Walmart and Superstore. Why only those places? Well because they have 2 tiered carts, one infant seat could go in the bottom, one on the top and Maddy in the front. Yeah I know I won’t have room for much groceries but it will just be for short trips by myself, so I can get a bin to put on the bottom of the cart to use. Yeah this is my best option although rather limiting. Yes we know you in effect have triplets and need to get out of the house every now and then momma to preserve your sanity but you are only allowed to go to 2 places until Maddy can walk well, K? Fun times LOLOLOLOL!

A few more notes: if we use the frame only I could try and “wear” Maddy and push the twins in their infant seats. But Maddy is quite heavy and ummm shall we say spirited heehee. I love her to pieces I honestly do, she is my heart and soul (as is Kelsey too) but let’s face it she is a bit of a high maintenance baby and I can totally see her being mad and not wanting to be “worn”. Sooooo if we get the double stroller (not just the frame) I could wear a lighter more compliant baby (I hope LOL) and have one infant car seat in one spot and Maddy could ride in the other seat. Sounds good doesn’t it. Well until hubby pointed out that during the winter (which is very often -30 around these parts, or even colder) that I won’t want the babies out of their carriers so maybe this logic doesn’t work. Maddy will be in a snowsuit he pointed out so that she can face the cold, ummm yeah but how do you “wear” a baby in a full snowsuit?! OMG SERIOUSLY COULD THIS GET ANY MORE COMPLICATED? Don’t answer that cuz if there happens to be a third hidden in here I WILL die!

So again back to the question I am begging someone to answer for us…how does poor mama leave the house without Daddy?

I know I said I already used my last option but honestly my last option is to now sit in the middle of the floor and cry. I know it all sounds complicated and you’re probably thinking it can’t really be that complicated….oh but it is once you start really thinking things through, or maybe over thinking things. (Don’t even get me started on the seating configuration in the van, if the car seats are so big that they take up all the room to the seat in front of them then how do you reach the backseats? Riddle me that?!)

Ok now that you have made it through this post I have to thank you for trying to help me and the babies out, well and Kelsey and hubby cuz if momma hasn’t left the house in weeks just imagine what I will be like. ;) I am honestly looking for feedback on what you would do, what you would purchase and what you think would work the best. I cannot think about these things anymore, my brain (what was left) is now mush and I need help to figure out what will truly be the best option out of a crazy situation. Sincerely, I hope you can help us out with your ideas! Thanks my friends! XOXOXOXOXOX

A big sister is fun even if there is 10 years difference

One of the things Kelsey has been doing for quite some time is taking Maddy into her room to play for like a half an hour. They used to play and watch tv in there (before her receiver went kaput) and who knows what else. It was always so cute and nice to be able to do something and just say hey Kels why don't you play with Mads for a while.

Well they were playing in her room again this past weekend and I just couldn't help myself. I grabbed the camera and just started shooting away. They were so cute together! Maddy sure enjoys her big sissy. She was the first one to get a smile from Maddy and a laugh too. There's no one who can make her smile and laugh like her sissy.

They are too cute for words! (Doesn't Kelsey look big and grown up?!)

Fraidy Baby

I showed you pics of Maddy's new swing set last week and she had swung on it once before...well she apparently hates it! Freaked right out when we tried to swing in either swing and go down the slide. Course she was having a bad day that day but ugh seriously, what a little goofball!

Worried...

Scared...

Freaking Out!

Oh and the swingset is not the only things this little silly girl is afraid of, wait for it...dun dun dun...sandals! Grandma got her little croc like ones last summer but they didn't fit 'til now so I tried to put them on her and she threw an absolute fit! Okay guess we'll buy some different ones. Um yeah...she totally freaked out in the walmart shoe aisle! Anytime we brought sandals even near her she started to freak out. Like I mean shaking and crying uncontrollably! So weird. So what did these good parents do? Why we bought her some sandals of course and are hoping that if we put them in her toy box that she'll make friends with them. Ahhh Maddy and her quirks! :)

Also last weekend she said hi and waved to daddy, she also said hi and waved to me too but she rarely does this. She will only do things when she wants to even though we know she knows how , there's a saying in our house that gets a lot of mileage, "That's Maddy". Her little quirks really make us laugh.

Our poor little bug was sick and playing post catch-up again

It just always seems to happen that when they start going to daycare they get sick, it's so hard to see them this way. :( Well Monday when we picked Mads up her daycare lady said she wouldn't let her put her down at all after her nap and she was very clingy. Hmm not like her at daycare (but totally like her at home LOL). Well as soon as we got her home and in the house, she puked all over poor daddy. Uh oh. So we proceeded to clean her up and fed her only toast for supper and she seemed ok after her toast and a short nap. So at snack time before bed we fed her some chicken and watermelon and she seemed fine. She did fuss a bit more than normal in the night but she's been doing that lately with teething so we didn't really think about it.

The next morning we got up, got dressed and went in to feed her her bottle and she only drank half and boy was she warm! Poor little girl had a fever! So we gave her some tylenol and cuddled her til daddy left for work. She was actually cuddling right in too which is not like her, she usually is just too busy for real cuddling. And just after daddy left mommy got puked on, guess she's an equal opportunity puker. ;) So she had quite a good nap after we got all cleaned up and sat together for a while and seemed to be a bit better a bit that afternoon and her fever had gone down as well.

Here are some pics of her from Monday night when she seemed to feel better. Playing with Daddy. :)   (Sorry there's so many, they were all just so dang cute to choose! Plus this will make up for all the times I don't post pics right?!)

She was just to expressive in these that I had to show them all. She used to always freeze when I brought out the camera but boy was she mugging that night. I think now that she has her own toy camera that she loves she's not so shy. And if you notice in a few of these you can see her top tooth pretty clearly and guess what, she's getting her other front tooth now too! It's just broken through a few days ago. She also is getting another one on the bottom and it looks like her eye teeth are trying to poke through. She sure is getting them all at once now! ;)

Last time I promised a picture of the belly so here it is, sorry I had to edit out a horrible shadow and am not about to edit the rest that all pretty much look the same so we are, me and the twins at 24 weeks:

Pretty big already eh? Yeah...pretty big already.
