Baby Update

HOLY COW can you guess how much these babies weigh? 6 lbs 10 oz and 6 lbs 13 oz…a mere 3 to 5 ounces from 7 pounds!! No wonder why I am falling apart!

My doc appointment went ok, my blood pressure was up around 130 something over 90 something so it is starting to creep up on the bottom number , and there was some protein spilling into my system so these are both things to watch. My belly is also measuring 47 weeks at 36 weeks.

We do have a tentative induction date of September 8th however the doc said that if my body is showing signs of readying for labor and my blood pressure is still not perfect then they might talk about inducing me after my appointment next Tuesday so maybe the following day. I am thinking once he gets the ultrasound results he may just do that cuz if we end up with two 8 + pounders with one being breech the chances of a natural delivery might not be as good but I’m no doctor LOL.

They both scored 8/8 on their tests again today and again were seen practice breathing so yay!!! Oh and Baby Girl B on the last 2 ultrasounds has shown us some hair too. ;) How cute!

I am anxious to not be pregnant anymore, but still nervous about labor delivery and having 2 newborns! But I need my body back, I am just useless right now and getting worse and can’t stand it. I know I will be tired and stressed once they come but at least I will be able to move 2 feet without being out of breath, LOL. I will update Thursday after my non stress test. :)

Figured I'd update again

I couldn't remember if I updated or not so I figure I'll just add a litgtle bit and maybe some random thoughts.

I had my NST yesterday in labor and delivery. I am always so scared I will get someone in labor who was noisy like me in the bed next to me to make me run for the hills LOL. Nope it was all good and quiet. ;)

Babies did well. Baby girl has still not really showed any huge highs and huge lows  which I guess they like to see but her heartrate is still good so that's great. I had quite a few contractions while I was on the monitor too, probably about 10 to 15 minutes apart...wait maybe a bit less since I was only hooked up for about 45 minutes and there were probably about 5 or 6 or 7 good ones. Anyway whatever the math things are a happenin but only in prepparation not the real thing ... yet.

I have had a few energy spurts the last few days, despite those spurts you still can't ompare them to normal peoples' energy spurts LOL. Just means I have managed and had the drive to get a few nagging little things done. I have also started feeling that ever so familiar back cramping that always comes along with my past labors (yeah I havew horrible back labor and am expecting it again) so I am starting to wonder if they will make their entrance soon. I hate not knowing LOL!

I am planning on washing their newborn clothes today and maybe just maybe washing some of mine. We shall see. I am also trying to get Kelsey a few things for school but we have to do a little at a time so someone may have to help us with that if the twins come soon. She does have a few things but not enough. At least she has some basics.

Well maybe I should go and do some preparing instead of blogging...I just have this feeling and am trying to get a few things done otherwise I will be naked at the hospital without phone numbers and cameras and such...but hey I'll have shampoo and conditioner! ;)

Baby Update

Well not much new but I guess that's good. Babies looked good, my belly is measuring 45 to 46 weeks and I am currently 35 weeks!!

To get my next non stress test I have to go to LDR Thursday or Friday and then next Tuesday I have another regular appointment and have an ultrasound right aferwards so that day will be busy busy!! Hopefully it all keeps going with no more scares.

I am off to relax for a few before I have to pick up my Maddy girl.

Maddy Update

So since it's been a while I thought I'd give a Maddy update. :) Our little princess is growing up sooo fast! She is soooooo much like her daddy too, it's adorable! She is also the biggest daddy's girl! Even mommy doesn't rate heehee.

So being like daddy means she is somewhat quiet and reserved. She can say a lot of words but she will only say them once in a while when she feels like it. (Have I mentioned how stubborn she is lately heehee?) SO new words to add are kitty and  puppy along with all her good old favorites. She still never says momma or mom or anything, only like 4 times ever but I know she loves me, on the other hand when daddy comes home she scoots down the hall and to the gate screeching daddy yay or dad, dada! What a girl! Considering the upcoming birth of the twins it's probably best that she's a daddy's girl right now anyway. ;)

And her latest and greatest escapade is standing up!!! YAY MADDY!!! Now I know many babies reach this milestone a few months earlier than Maddy has but she is following a typical pattern that starts with stubborness! ROFL! We are sooooooo proud of her and she is too. We all clap and say yay when she pulls herself up, it's only been like about a week and a half since she really started liking doing this and she has gotten so good at it already! She even does a little shake and shimmy dance to show she’s excited and proud of herself. We are hoping she moves on to the next step soon, as usual with our sweetie she does things only when she is ready and no sooner so we will just have to wait and see. ;)

This little girl of ours is also a little terror in her highchair, she will just grab and toss whatever she wants over the edge or put her hands on the tray and just sweep it all around and off the tray (much to our dogs’ pleasure). So I started pointing at the tray when she would pick up a piece of food to throw, I would tap the tray with my finger and say put it back on the tray Maddy. Well about 2 weeks ago she grabbed a piece of food, threw it as usual and then looked at me and smiled tapping the tray with her finger just like mommy! What a little stinker heehee! I couldn't stop laughing at my little mischief maker, especially with that smirk on her face. Ahhh she is gonna be trouble LOL!

As I have said before Maddy doesn't crawl in the traditional way she "bum scoots" and this is seriously affecting our pocketbook! She has now gone through quite a few pairs of shorts and the replacement shorts are one wash away from the holes growing big enough that you can definitely see them. What a kid!!! I now have to stop being so lazy and just use specific pants or shorts at home and leave the good ones for going out in, how sad is that LOL.

I spent some time editing some pics to quickly share with you so here they are. :)

Maddy’s first ruined pair of shorts, they went from teeny tiny holes that you could hardly see at the beginning of the day to this, no kidding. It only takes about 2 weeks if that to go from brand new to this point.  What a girl!

We have to now put the dog dishes up, I tried to get her used to them but she just will not stay away…notice Rotten Roxy eyeing Maddy’s cracker on the floor.

And that’s about it. :)

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning so I will update the baby situation then ;) And I can’t believe that Kelsey starts school on the 31st! WOWZERS! Time flies and my how the kids are growing!!! (And so am I roflmbo!!!) I’ll post a pic of me soon, I promise…maybe ;)

Surprise it’s a baby shower!

I had been holding off on posting about this because I wanted to show off the thank you cards I made and didn’t want to show them here until they were printed and sent but I think I will do it without those now since I ordered more to send to others as well. ;) I do finally have them printed and sent, yay!

Printing was a nightmare, if you want to upload your own image in its entirety, as in having the whole front of the card be your image, then it makes things a bit more difficult. Costco is great for printing but alas even their cards are printed as photos and have that Fujifilm logo all over the back…who wants that on your cards? And their “blank” card template really only applied to half the size of the card so hmmm my design was way too small. I FINALLY got it done at Staples, as a real card and was happy it didn’t take the full 5 - 10 days it said when I uploaded and ordered. I think they turned out cute too (if I do say so myself LOL). Although the girls have probably I forgot all about them by now! Sorry guys, had my heart SET on doing them myself. ;) (Nola you know what I mean heehee.)

Anyway let’s get to the reason I needed them! You have all heard about my Mommy and Me Group, we met when our babes were only a couple months old through our local health unit, they had classes each Wednesday morning on various baby topics and I decided to go to one. Well our class was sooo chatty and enjoyed each other’s company so much that when the classes were done we took down each others phone numbers and emails and have kept in touch via facebook and monthly get togethers. So all our kids are around the same ages (give or take 3 months) and they have not only been fun and company but also support, I am sooo happy I met them all! I have to log on to facebook at least once a day to see what they are all up to or I feel so lost LOL! And by now we have celebrated almost all of them turning one already! How time goes by! I have truly enjoyed getting to know them and look forward to many years of watching all of our kids grow up and welcoming a bunch more new ones! :)

So these sweethearts collaborated with hubby to throw us a surprise baby shower and it was SOOOO NICE!!!! I can’t tell you how touched and happy I was/am! It was so nice to know just that they were thinking of us enough to go to all that work. What a great bunch of gals! I came in and heard voices and when I came into the kitchen and saw them I started crying. So seriously sweet of them!!! We had a great afternoon visiting and opening gifts! Not only were these friends SO GENEROUS but they even brought food to freeze to make dinners and snacks easier after the babies come!!! Seriously awesome!! I have had to use restraint to not pop them into the oven already! ;)

We took lots of pictures but since my blog is open to everyone I won’t post them here as I don’t think they’d like their faces plastered on the net but once they are edited I will post them on my facebook page for my “friends” to see.

So a HUGE thank you to my gals, you made my mat leave so much fun and I can’t wait to watch our kids all grow up and keep in touch with all of you! You all mean so much to me and I appreciate it soooo much!

PS – A big shout out to hubby for cleaning the house for the party and getting me out and about that morning. You rock, but then again that’s nothing new! ;)

Baby Update

So I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and everything went fine. Baby girl is still breech...the stinker. The doctor gave me a prescription for diclectin again as my nausea and vomiting seem to be back again. :(  In fact I had lost a tiny bit of weight since my last visit (yeah that would be the vomiting) but he wasn't concerned. Ironically enough I filled my prescription and took it that night and the next day was absolutely unbearably sick. How's that for irony! Thankfully I woke up back to "normal" today (that's my normal not actual normal LOL) cuz yesterday seriously knocked me on my butt.

I had another appointment today but only to do a Non Stress Test or NST. They hooked me and the babies up to the machine to show and record the babies' heartbeats and to see if I was having any contractions. Surprisingly enough I was having a few contractions that I couldn't really feel (about 3 to 4 in a half hour) but the nurse wasn't concerned so I guess that's ok. Babies did well too. Baby girl actually stayed put for 95% of the test! WOW! Baby boys patterns were great, he showed highs and lows as they like to see and baby girls were ok, she didn't do such highs and lows but still performed well. :)

And now I bring you the dumb mom moment. It finally dawned on me that what I have been feeling lately are indeed contractions even though they are not painful per se. What I thought was just somehow the babies stretching really hard against my belly to make it all hard is (DUH) most likely braxton hicks. My belly turns rock hard and it's a bit hard to breathe and a lot uncomfortable to walk etc and then about 30 seconds later they pass. Hmmmm can't believe I didn't realize that til today but yeah I didn't. Hey in my defense I have never had any in my previous pregnancies so I would only know what the real thing painful contractions feel like. I guess since my uterus is stretched much further than with either of those it would inevitably start to get irritable LOL.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I can't believe I forgot to mention, but alas I did forget to mention (LOL it's late and I'm feeling goofy) that at my last appt. my belly is measuring 40 weeks and I am only ahem 33 weeks, the miracle of twins LOL. So normally women this big would be havin their baby by now but we still have 7 weeks til my due date, yeah it's pretty comfortable around here...NOT. Ooops another thing I forgot to mention, I can't believe I forgot to mention, did I tell you I forgot to mention (ok, ok I get it, you don't think it's funny anymore LOL) but we also set my induction date just in case for September 8th.

Oh yeah and we moved Kelsey to her new bedroom last weekend, she's in love with it! So dear hubby spent all last weekend spackling, sanding, painting and carpet cleaning her old room for the new nursery. :)  It's so much nicer now! Thanks babe, I can always count on him! Sorry ladies he's taken. ;)  We also got a bunch of bankers boxes and organized the clothes that we have for the twins by size and boy or girl so we should be able to find clothes easier now when we need to move sizes when the babies start to grow.

Well there's lots more I could tell you but I am pooped! I will try and update again soon. We have an ultrasound next Tuesday and another NST Thursday so I will let you all know how those go. Off to bed, or at least the couch. ;)
