We're still here

Yay I think we are all finally over our colds, it only took 2 weeks! UGH! We think Maddy said her first real word last night...she said "hi" to herself in the mirror but wouldn't do it again so I don't know if it counts heehee. But it was sure cute! And apparently Maddy used her dayhome lady's legs to pull herself up to standing today! It didn't last long but she hasn't showed signs of moving so this is exciting for us. Also tonight we put the tv remote and a container of her little snacks just out of her reach on the floor and she was really reaching and did scoot a few inches to try and get them, which she doesn't do for her toys. So needless to say we will be doing more of that this weekend trying to encourage her to crawl. ;)

Well it's getting late (yeah late for me LOL) and I have to work tomorrow so I better jet. Daddy is off tomorrow so it will be a first ever Maddy and Daddy day and he's looking forward to it and I am sure Maddy will have a blast with him all day too. :) I can't wait to hear the trouble they get into. ;)

Oh and before I forget, every time we pick up Maddy from daycare she gets so excited to see us that she literally smacks me in the face for at least 30 seconds full force, what a girl...it actually hurts but she's just so darn excited and well it's still so darn cute heehee! What a girl!

Here's to a good friday and an even better weekend!

The Frazzled Mommy Diaries

So I have not one but 2 crazy stories to tell you! I'll start with the one yesterday.

The Mall and The Beloved Bunny

We went to the mall (Maddy and I) to look for shoes for mommy and a new/smaller stroller for Maddy. We walked the entire length of the mall into Zellers, Sears and The Bay (which are all on opposite ends). When I get back to Zellers I realize.........OH NO..................BUNNY IS GONE!!!!! For those of you who don't know, Maddy has this little tiny blankie with a bunny head on it. This has been with her since day one, she sleeps with him and takes him EVERYWHERE and since she has started daycare she has started being really dependant on him even more. Sadly when I bought him months before she was born I wasn't in full on mommy mode yet or I would have bought 2 as he has turned into her "lovey" (or security blanket).

I was already exhausted (I'm very sick with a cold right now, not to mention other reasons which we shall leave secret for no lol) and ready to go home but we HAD to try and find Bunny so I buy a water (that I will totally need to get through the whole search) and take my other purchase out to the van to just make sure he isn't in there. Nope no Bunny and frazzled mommy that I am also leaves the water in there in my bag UGH! Now I know you're thinking I could just buy another but seriously I only ever have my debit card and for 1 water...yeah right they probably wouldn't even let me, plus I was in a huge panic.

So we backtracked to every single place we had been, I'm shaking, red faced and sweating and literally ready to pass out but the search must go on. This story does have a good ending though...Bunny was in the last place we looked and all was well again. Except for me who expended and exceeded my daily energy quota by like 2 weeks! UGH, it's worth it though.

The worst part about this? I kept thinking to myself that either it would be turned in or someone would take it for themselves...since we have all been sick and Maddy has been sick for over a week now I figured if someone decided to kidnap bunny at least they'd most likely get sick outta the deal ROFLMBO! That's sooooooooo bad isn't it?!  ;)

Disclaimer: I have tried to find another one on the internet to get a backup but no luck, Bunny appears to be the only Bunny out there. :( Heehee

So there's yet another story in the frazzled mommy diaries, let's call it

The Mall and The Mega Exploding Diaper

Yes, yes I know you see a pattern here....I probably should quit going to the mall LOL! After another full day in the mall, this time Maddy and Kelsey and I, I grab Maddy from her stroller and go to put her in the car seat when Kelsey starts yelling and I feel something wet...I look back and there is poop ALL OVER the seat of the stroller!! Which I know means all over the back of her! UGH! So I figure rather than go back into the store with poop everywhere and since I can't really put her back in a poopy stroller I can try to change her in the back of the van........BAD IDEA!!

I didn't really realize how windy it was outside and well that freaks Maddy out. So we got the changing pad laid down on the back hatch of the van and laid her on it, we got her little jeans off and sweater off and found yup it was EVERYWHERE! Uh oh.....I only have 4 wipes! UGH what are we going to do?! (Maddy is screaming bloody murder through all of this mind you.) So I look around to find some blankets I could wrap her in to go and buy more wipes in the store and change her in there. While I am starting to wrap her up trying to not get poop everywhere she PEES!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! I am seriously dying here! What the heck do I do?! So I  figure I could put a diaper on her just to get her in (in case she peed or pooed again while I was walking into the store) but.....there is only 1 diaper left! By this time I am sooo frazzled and trying to figure out a way to change and clean a kid that has poo up to her neck with no wipes left and 1 diaper.

Thankfully a store employee came over and asked if she could help. I don't know if passersby saw us and sent someone out to help or if maybe she was out on her break but I started crying and saying I have no wipes left and there's poo everywhere so she ran in and got a bunch of wet paper towels for me, oh thank goodness! So I cleaned her up as best as I could and wrapped some paper towel around her and headed into the store.

Thankfully Kelsey was there to stay with the van because since there was poop all over the stroller I had to just leave it unfolded in the parking lot until I cleaned it up! UGH! Maddy hates the change table thingies in bathrooms too so she screamed bloody murder the ENTIRE time I tried to clean her up with soap and water and paper towels. It was a GONG SHOW!

Whew, now that that's done...guess what I have to go and do....laundry is calling my name and so is the stroller. I guess I should stay away from the mall from now on huh?! UGH! I'm still sick and even more tired now. ;)

Easter Recap

Well what was supposed to be 4 blissful days off work turned into 4 days of not so much LOL. When we picked Maddy up from her dayhome Thursday night we heard a bit of a cough coming from the back seat...hubby and I just looked at eachother like uh-oh! And sure enough, thursday night it was just a bit of a cough but by Friday there was a runny nose too. She was now refusing to drink her formula so we tried water from a bottle and nope not that either. Ok water from a sippy cup? Nope not that. So we are now proud owners of every single type of bottle or sippy cup they sell in this town trying to get some type of liquid in her! Ugh but alas she just wouldn't budge this stubborn girl of ours! Saturday was more of the same...still didn't want to drink and now really didn't want to eat much except the pureed baby food (probably cuz it was easiest to eat). And Easter Sunday...well that was a day in it's own category LOL she was a little MONSTER! By 7 pm she had only napped 15 minutes and we basically just ran out of the in laws house after dinner cuz she was so bad LOL. Oy!

You're probably thinking hey dummies take your kid to the doctor but we didn't want to overreact to a cold so we tried a humidifier and saline nose "drops" and anything else we could do. Well by this time her cough had gotten worse and we said that's it. I don't care if the doctor laughs at us and tells us to go away at least we can ask if there is any over the counter meds for her cough since that seems to be the worst.

Well we took her to the walk in clinic and poor baby has an ear and throat infection! So we have her on antibiotics and are hoping against hope that she gets better soon! When I called her dayhome she wasn't surprised, she had 2 other kids sick over the weekend! So...Maddy has been at daycare for 2 weeks.....what's the incubation period for a cold?! LOL! That's ALWAYS how it goes, once they go to daycare there's no telling what they come home with.

So here's to hoping my poor little Easter bunny is on the mend. She seems a bit better, her nose is less runny and we have gotten 2 half bottles in her yesterday so that's progress.

Not many pics from Easter since Mads was so sick but here is Daddy and Maddys and my 2 cuties with their bunny ear headbands on...I just had to buy them! LOL! YOu can see MAddy's little snotty nose and red rimmed eyes in here, poor little bug!

Maddy's First Trip to the Park

So even though she was sick since the weather was so nice we decided to take Mads to the park and hope that the fresh air would help with her poor little nose. She really had fun although it's hard to tell by her expression, heehee...hey give the girl a break she's sick LOL!

Checkin out the swings

One of my favs below!

And again another fav!

Maddy was clapping and Daddy decided to join in on the fun :)

Mads and Dad

Down the slide we go!

Wheeeeeeeee!

That's Kelsey in the orange tank top behind Mads, sucha  daredevil, she was running all over the park. I guess we were just too slow for her lol! ;). Mads looks a little worried to be sitting there without Daddy heehee.

Another favorite

Well Mads is up now. At least I got all caught up and posted pics for ya'll! I will write again soon...I hope!

Ashley Furniture Parts 2 & 3

Well unfortunately Ashley still sucks but there is nothing we could do about it. We got our furniture "fixed" and delivered and in the process of their delivery people bringing it into our house it was damaged yet again, UGH!!! Our patience was gone and even though it's not me at all, we just said s.c.r.e.w. it. We took the darn furniture and had to call Ashley to have them come to our house and repair it. After a few days of waiting for them to call as they promised we finally had to call them and schedule an appointment. They gave me a 9 to 5 timeline for the day the tech would come and told me they would call the day before to narrow it down to a 2 hour window.........so knowing their customer service do you think they did that? NOPE! So I called that night and they said sorry the lady has gone home we don't know when it will come. So I called again first thing in the morning and got my window of time...then the next thing I know the tech calls and asks if he can come now? It's a good thing I was home! So long story short cuz I just can't be truly bothered to stew about this anymore, he came, he fixed, he went and that's the end of the story folks.

We bought from Ashley furniture, paid full price, and got TWICE damaged and fixed furniture still for full price, if that doesn't say scream refurbished I don't know what doe?! If this appeals to you along with long waiting periods for delivery/fixing and HORRID customer service then these guys are for you. If not DON'T EVER SHOP ASHLEY FURNITURE!!!!

Hodge Podge Catch Up

So since I am a bad blogger here are some of the highlights from the last month and a half.

One of my very favorite things is that Maddy claps (I already told you that though) but it's still a favorite and we try to get her do it anytime we can. :) Maddy is still not moving, she's quite content to just sit there and be catered to...guess if we didn't cater to her maybe she's wanna move LOL!

A big change...I have gone back to work. I started back on March 30th and let me tell you it is HARD!!! I still have mini-meltdowns most nights when I come home and realize how much there is to do it just literally overwhelms me and that's even with hubby to help! UGH!

Going back to work was especially hard for me to leave Maddy, I still cry many times when I drop her off LOL! In some ways daycare is good for Maddy and in some ways not so much. She has definitely learned to eat more varied foods...at least at daycare (not for mommy though), and she has really started babbling! She really only has a few sounds but she really goes to town sometimes. So what sound is it? Welllllll she says da-da-da-da...so I think it's safe to say her first real word will be dada since she's already got those sounds down pat. No matter how hard I try to get her to say mum-mum-mum she just won't LOL what a stinker! She seems pretty happy there and it's nice to know she is enjoying herself and the other kids. The bad things? Well she really needs her stuffed bunny/lovey now, which isn't bad but since I know she needs it to remind her of us/home it does make me feel bad that she feels that way. But then again I am a mom and am allowed to feel that way.

What else? Its' so hard to remember that far back heehee. so I better just post this or it will sit in my drafts folder until I can remember and then it will be another couple months passing before I post it. ;) There's just never enough time or energy!

Mini Vacation 2009

Yes, yes I admit it, my name is Michelle and I'm a VERY bad blogger, this post has actually been sitting in my drafts half done for over a month! Sorry but the energy just isn't there lately to do much but the essentials.

We had a great time in Banff tagging along with hubby while he attended his conference for work (I thinks it was back around March 13th, and nope not one picture...what a bad bad mommy and scrapbooker LOL!) . It was quite cold though and since Maddy is still so young we really don't like being out in that much cold for too long so there wasn't a whole lot we did outdoors but hey it was nice just to get away. :)

The girls and I went to breakfast every morning and then swimming. The pool was set up more for a swedish spa, were you go from a small hot plunge pool into the main pool which was quite cold unfortunately. Kelsey didn't mind it at all but Maddy (and her mommy) couldn't get warm in there so it was the hot pool for us and when we got to hot we sat on the steps with only our feet in the water. It was still fun though. :)

Maddy did way better then we thought on the trip although she really sleep as much as we expected but on the last leg  of both ends of the trip when she got fussy we just hooked up the travel DVD to the back of the seat and played a baby Einstein video and she was totally and completely enthralled! It was so cute! I mean she loves those at home but it was so funny that her reaction was even better in the car. We also used a laptop to play them in our hotel room and wow the same crazy cool reaction LOL that girl is funny! Kelsey got a souveneir for herself at the rock and gem store (a necklace with a shark tooth on it) and a few little things to bring back to her friends and was pretty happy about that.

By the end of the few days we were all happy to get back home and into our normal routines and beds!
