Guess what happened today?

I felt Maddy's first tooth!!! We were sitting on the couch after finishing a bottle and since her gums seemed to be getting a bit whiter in areas I thought I'd check to see if anything had worked its way through yet and sure enough there is the top of a sharp little baby tooth on her bottom left side!!! YAY!!! I can't believe my little girl finally got herself a tooth! :)

Also I *think* she may be starting to like baby food somewhat. She still doesn't much like cereal or fruit or even desert but it appears that she likes creamed corn, ok so lets try more veggies. So we tried some sweet potato that I had made a while ago before her baby food strike began and she actually ate that and seemed to like it too! So today we have had some more sweet potato and I went and bought a bunch of new veggies to try too. Maybe the little stinker just doesn't like sweet things, go figure! LOL!

So things are pluggin along at our house. Busy as usual and unfortunately we are in a yucky cold snap. Here's to hoping it goes away SOON and we can get back to temperatures if at least -5 celcius cuz that's a lot easier to bear!

Rambling...

Sometimes even though things may look perfect on the outside, things are not what they seem on the inside. Wonderful families worthy of envy are shattered. Why am I rambling you ask? Well there has been some disturbing news coming out of our small city and unfortunately I know the "victims" of this. My heart absolutely breaks for them and I just cannot fathom the incredible pain they are in. We are thinking of you so much and wishing we could do anything at all to help you through this unimaginably hard time.

This all makes me very thankful for what I have, my kids, my wonderful husband, my family. It has taught me that those who seem to have it all can be in even more pain than you, there is no utterly perfect life. I hope that their hearts can be healed, they deserve more than what they have gotten. May G.O.D. bring you peace.

So hug and kiss your family, tell them that you love them and appreciate them for all of their faults, it could always be worse than dirty socks left on the floor, chores left undone or snippy remarks...there are some who can only wish those were the biggest of their problems.

She's actually sitting :)

So I forgot to mention (yes I know I'm a horrible mom lol) that Maddy has been sitting for up to like 15 minutes at a time starting last Friday Jan 9th. YAY MADDY!!! I am still too overprotective to let her just sit there without me (or at least the nursing pillow behind her and me behind it) but she is doing sooo good. Although, if we do put the nursing pillow behind her she lays back onto it like it's her own personal lazy boy recliner ROFL! This girl sure is one of a kind!

I am getting tired of my Christmas themed blog but I don't have the time or energy to change it now so I guess it will have to stay that way for a while longer.

I finally got Maddy's wooden letters done for above her crib. I made the papers myself to match her bedding and the ribbon they hang from is cute too. It took me forever but I love the end result, I will definitely have to hang them soon (LOL) and when I do I will take pics.

Well that's about it. Life is crazy hectic busy but I am trying to blog to keep family and friends updated on Maddy's life and also to use it for my own recording purposes so one night I may actually write all this stuff down as to when she first ate food, when she first sat, etc...etc. I know lazy bad mom again here heehee.

Ok hopefully off to bed, this momma is wiped!

WOW has it been that long?

Hmmm didn't realize I hadn't blogged for a while. Things are crazy hectic around here and life just seems to slip away so fast and before you know it weeks have gone by. I meant to blog on the 13th as Maddy turned 7 months that day, YAY!! She is such a sweetie and we love her so much so here are a few random pics of our Miss Maddy in honor of her 7 months old. :)

We were playing around with Maddy one night and well her dad is a goofball and likes to put things on her head LOL! Here's our Maddy with her newspaper hat.

A girl has to have different styles of hats ;)

Shocked I tell you LOL!

Maddy has quite the mohawk so here she is very unimpressed after her bath one night sporting the fuzzy mohawk heehee.

And again her dad and his fondness of putting things on Maddy's head for amusement ;) Here is our Princess.

Happy 7 months Maddy and much love to everyone!

Better Late Than Never Heehee

Ok so I stole the Christmas pics back off my facebook page instead of trying to re-crop and resize them, so here is a small recap of our Christmas. :)

Christmas Eve at Grandma's and Grandpa's

Maddy Opening a gift, she did that REALLY well. :)

The paper on her head, we just couldn't resist heehee. ;)

Opening more gifts.

She loved these rings but we were so mean...we wouldn't "unwrap" them from the cellophane packaging until we got home, typical parents LOL!

Mads and Daddy

Mads and Mommy

Kelsey and her magic set, it was cute, she kept trying to do tricks for us the next day and night heehee.

Kelsey and her new guitar, she is in LOVE with this! THANKS cousin Michael!!!

And from Christmas morning, my two favorite girls, aren't they gorgeous! :)

Sissy helping Mads play with her new toy :) She's so good with her!

Kelsey getting her biggest yet ironically smallest present this year, her neon green (soooo totally Kelsey!) ipod nano.

And my favorite picture of Maddy this morning was her and meeting her new vibrating cow, she lights up like this everytime we get him vibrating and tickle her belly with him. :)

Sooo that was our Christmas in pictures, hope yours was as good as ours! ANd may the new year bring you all (and us heehee) much joy and happiness!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2009 everyone! WOW time goes by fast!

We didn't do much to ring in the new year, it's not a "big" party day for us but I had planned on cooking a nice steak dinner for us. Only thing was that once the ziploc bag of meat thawed...it was a roast and NOT steak and it was way too late to try and cook a roast for supper LOL. Sooooo after a brief snit on my part (yeah I get irritable when I can't eat what I want to eat LOL! Oh and I'm like Joey on friends...I don't share food, but that's irrelevant LOL!) we decided to go out for dinner. We headed to Montanas and it was quite busy but wow we walked right in. I had my steak dinner, first time having steak there and it was very good (pricey but good).

Maddy was in love with the restaurant. First off it's always very noisy in there, there's all sorts of things on the walls and they have brown paper covering the tables, she kept picking up the paper and trying to fling it up and down almost knocking over our drinks, but hey that's fun to a 6 month old heehee.

The BEST part of the dinner was when we heard a little baby squealing like Maddy does when she's excited, what did Maddy do? Of course she recognized her own language, perked right up and started talking (ok sqealing) back! It was ADORABLE and HILARIOUS!!! Everytime she heard that baby she'd talk back for the rest of the night heehee. She also had a ton of fun standing and sitting on the table and making googly eyes (my lingo for just being/making cute) at all the other people she could see. She LOVES getting compliments and did she ever get a ton last night LOL!

So after dinner we came home and watched Stepbrothers, um yeah it was ok but not great. We inadvertantly rang in the new year each on our own new ipods playing around and realized 2 minutes later that we missed it so we had our new years eve kiss late LOL!

Not much going on today, it's 2 and I still haven't cleaned up for the day and DH is working in the basement. All the sanding is done so YAY it's time for primer and maybe paint this weekend! Soon we will have a whole new place to play! Oh and while I remember, it's so cute, when I take Mads down into the basement she just looks around astonished like wow where are we LOL! It's soo cute, she does the same thing when she goes into her sister's room...guess those are places she never really goes in the house LOL!

Ok Maddy's nap will be over soon, I'm actually shocked she's been sleeping for a hour and a half now so I'd better run! HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone we know and love!!! And I promise to post pictures of stuff soon (been a little too heavy on the words and no pics lately I know.) Till next time!
