All about my Family

So the post before this one explains why I haven't been around a lot lately. My wonderful Grandmother passed away recently and we drove out to be with my family and attend the funeral. So I wanted to share some pics of my family, my brother and his kids and my dad and his wife and my Grandma of course. So here we go.
I lived with My Grandma and Grandpa for all of my summers and breaks from school to work in their beauty salon from about 11 to 16 years old. I treasure those memories as both of them are gone now. As always happens family spreads across the country and it becomes hard to be able to see eachother as often as you should. These pictures of my DD and Grandma were taken the last time I saw her which was 5 long years ago. I now treasure these pictures even more than before, and only wish I had some newer ones with her to show. Below are 3 pictures of DD and my Beloved Grandmother.

Pictures of my Brother and his Lovely Family:

And a picture of us:

A picture of my Uncle Teddy and me. I LOVE THIS PICTURE and will treasure it always!!! He is so special and such a sweet sweet gentle soul, there's no one like him in the world!

My Grandmother left each of her granddaughters one of her rings and I am so happy about this, I will wear mine with so much pride and love knowing that I always have some of her with me. Mine is in getting sized and cleaned and having the claws replaced right now and I can't wait to get it back! The picture below is mine and my cousin Danielle's hands. The blue ring is mine and the brown is Danielle's. My first heirloom and it is more special than you can know.

Speaking of my cousin Danielle, I didn't even recognize her at first, how's that for being gone too long? LOL! Here we are at dinner together:

And here's a picture of my brother and I at dinner, wow do we ever look alike!!!

And this one's especially for my dad, lol, he was wondering when there would be some pics of him on my blog. So here are my brother and I with my dad at dinner...wow we all look so alike!!!

And a picture of my Dad and Stepmom and DD:

I am so glad I got to see my family again, it's so hard when you live what seems like so far way. It's easy to look at these photos and forget why I was there in the first place, but now it's all coming back. I don't think it will ever stop hurting and the tears have come again as I remember so I will sign off for now. But I hope that you enjoyed meeting my family as they are so special to me. Love you all!!!!

Sorry I've been MIA

We have had a rough 3 weeks in my family. We were on vacation when DH learned that his Grandmother had passed away so we hopped in our car to get there and help out.

Only a few days after getting back we learned that my Grandmother was gravely ill and the next day she passed away too. So we were away again for quite the long road trip. We just got back last night. We had been planning on getting out to see my Grandmother in September...how things can change in the blink of an eye. I miss her terribly and am so saddened I didn't get that one last trip in to see her as I so desperately wanted. Please, if you are putting off that last trip, spare no expense and get there, regrets are hard to live with!!!

I hope to be back at all of this real soon. Until then take care and let everyone you love know that you love them; take the time it takes to show them and spare no time or expense for that one last visit, it could mean the world to you in the future!!! Now go hug and kiss your family...call your far off relatives...because life is so short!

I love you forever Grandma!!! May your days be filled with happiness in Heaven!!! Till we meet again...

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone,

Happy Canada Day! I LOVE Canada day! Today we are going to the local fesitivities as one of our local parks. It will be so much fun! And tonight...fireworks!!! YIPPEE!

Since I have been spending wayyyy to much time on the computer I spent the afternoon with DH shopping and making a cool fountain for our deck. He had seen this one at a great garden store, it had a bamboo spigot and what looked like a steel garden pot with a few water plants in it. Soooo yesterday we went to take a look, we ended up buying the spigot but wanted to shop around for a pot that matched better than a steel one. We found exactly what we wanted at Home Depot! Of course since there were other sizes I had to buy them just so that if we put flowers out on the deck next summer the pots would match (ROFL yeah I'm like that). Well we got it all home and set it up, looked awesome! So then we decided we needed some plants to go with it, to match the pots I had bought ahead of time, lol. So off we went back to Home Depot to get some more. Becuase of the look of the fountain I didn't want flowers or anything that wouldn't "match" and that would take away form the look so we bought tropical house plants (yes houseplants outside and I even have garden decorations inside but that's a different story, lol). And I am LOVIN how it all turned out!

Now we need the new patio furniture that we have been eyeing...next year though. LOL! So wanna see pictures? I warn you it is a simple little arrangement but it reflects my taste and what I love to see in and around my home. So here are a few pictures. ;)

This is my little tropical corner in the prairies! I love it and the sound it makes is so relaxing! And those pots when I found them were so perfect and matched the bamboo of the spigot much better than a steel one! Now you can see why I stocked up, lol!
Well I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend and to all my fellow Canadians, HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!
