Just had to share my newest layout!

So I just finished this layout minutes ago but I just love how it turned out so I have to share it before I head off to bed. ;) One of Maddy's first nicknames is Maddy-Moo-Who...I don't know where it came from, but it rhymed and well that's what counts ROFL! Soooooo I wanted this page to have a Dr Seuss feel in honor of her "Who" last name (as in the Whos from Whoville and the Grinched movie etc heehee). And I am LOVING how the cluster of pictures turned out! What a cutie!

Journaling reads:

Maddy-moo-who was your very first nickname from mommy. It started off in the hospital as just Maddy-moo and the next thing I knew I was calling you Maddy-moo-who just like the Dr. Seuss characters in the movie Grinched. I have no idea why, maybe it was your cute little button nose but it stuck and for the first few months of life you were my little Maddy moo who.

In other news we started Mommy and Me Bellydancing classes today, yeah I know, go ahead and laugh LOL! But it'll be fun and may help me shed some pounds heehee so I'm game!

Maddy is still being quite the handful :( she's in a stage where all she wants is for mommy to hold her and no one else which makes it quite challenging to eat, do laundry, go to the bathroom, cook, clean, pick your nose (just kidding) ROFL, well you get the picture! ;)  Oh well at least she loves me. ;) (None of this changes the fact that we are so blessed to have her in our lives, I am sooo head over heels in love with this little screamer heehee!)

Daddy had a meeting in Calgary so he went to Toys R Us and brought home a Bumbo seat I have been dying to try! Maddy has been so strong ever since she was born and is always doing little baby situps if you lay her on her back so this awesome little seat will help her actually sit up! I can't wait, I hope she likes it! I am hoping this will make picture taking easier too, or at least more versatile than the laying down photos that my hard drive is full of LOL!

Ok well it's almost midnight so I should feed cutie pie and get to bed. I need my beauty sleep after all. Wow it must be late cuz I'm really getting corny now LOL!

Guess who laughed today?!?!

Our wonderful 3 month and one day old little princess Maddy!!! It was so cute! She did it once yesterday but left us with a..."was that really a laugh or a fluke" feeling LOL! Well today her sister was just chatting with her and out it came! We did get it on video but I have to upload and edit it, since it's a dvd video camera it takes more work to get it in an online format but it will be worth the wait!

Life has been hectic lately still. Maddy is still being a handful and not wanting to sleep very m,uch during the day. I think she's fussy half the time because she's bored. I can't blame her, being 3 months old is hard work and there's not much playing you can do at that age yet heehee. Hopefully she will outgrow this fussy stage. But we still love her, you can't be mad at a girl as cute and sweet as her heehee. I am going to get her one of those bumbo seats cuz she tries so hard to sit up on her own already and maybe that will give her the chance to actually "sit" and play with stuff, we'll see.

We are still going to Baby and Me classes at our local Health unit, it's actually a highlight in our week (LOL) to chat with the other moms. And now we started Post Natal Yoga too. I really enjoyed Pre Natal yoga so I couldn't wait for this one to start and wow is it a workout! Guess they took it easy on us preggos before (and I bet this one is still easy I've just never been in shape LOL)!

Hopefully I will have Maddy and her giggles ready for viewing soon!

Toes ;)

I have a new layout I am so in love with! I extracted my little baby's tiny feet from an awful background and the result, well I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Definitely a keeper lol!

In other news Maddy has been very cranky lately. :(

She is getting teeth that are starting to hurt her but I think there's more going on too. It's making getting anything done very hard lol. But it's all about making her feel better, whatever it takes and hopefully she'll grow out of it. She's about to start another growth spurt (3 months... can you believe it?) so that may be it too. So if you don't see or hear much from me you'll know why lol. Have a great night!

Yay my first CT!

So I am so excited to say that I am now a CT member for Scrap Orchard! Woo Hoo! If you haven't been there you need to, it's got so many great designers and it's just plain fun! So I have finally started making layouts again and it's so nice! Here are a few:

This one is using Kami of Ziggle Designs newest Kit Love Bug and it is sooo adorable!

And these are using Scrap Orchard's gorgeous September Mystery Mega Kit!

Well I better get to bed. It's the first day of school tomorrow, no I don't have to take Kelsey (she's too grown up now *cough cough*) and will be riding the bus, but she's not getting out if this house without pictures heehee! Feels sooo good to catch up a bit on the old blogaroo! Later gators!

The NICU

Well as you can tell by the heading it didn't go perfectly although we do have a happy ending so don't sweat it lol.

Here is the layout I did about our ordeal in the NICU, if you look closely you can see her IV and some of the wires in these pictures. It was important for me to get pictures of her like this because even though it wasn't ideal it was still her entrance into the world.

Journaling reads:

My pregnancy was relatively easy with you, so when signs of trouble started during labor and delivery I was shocked and scared. Your delivery was hurried, with many specialists, doctors and nurses in our room awaiting your arrival. Holding you for the first time, realizing you were ok, gave me so much relief! You were a fighter! It wasn’t until later that night, after all the visitors had left and night had fallen that I found out there were problems yet to come. During what I assumed would be a routine check the nurses told me that you had a fever that wouldn’t break and they needed to do a few routine tests. When they returned the news didn’t sound so routine, at least for me. Everything started happening in a blur and the next thing I know they are saying they need to do a spinal tap on you…my precious baby, not yet even one day old! After an agonizing wait, the paediatrician on call came in to explain the procedure to me. That’s when my face crumpled and I let the tears flow freely. The thought of my baby going through that, the thought that this was bad enough to warrant that, the thought that there was anything wrong with you was just too much to keep inside. I called your Daddy, who had gone home to be with your sister, in tears explaining what was happening and he came rushing back. We signed the consent forms and the procedure went on without us. When the procedure was done we went to see you in the NICU. The nurse said that you had done beautifully, you hadn’t even cried. You looked so funny, you had sugar all over your face. The nurses explained that they had dipped your soother in sugar because it’s a natural painkiller. It was then that we learned that you would have to stay in the NICU on IV antibiotics while we waited for the test results. Going back to my now empty room was heart wrenching. That was a feeling that never left until I took you home, I hadn’t expected to have to leave you in the NICU. It would be a long week, full of ups and downs and many tears but we were so glad to know that at the end of all of this you had received a clean bill of health all of your test results came back fine. During that first week of your life we looked forward to being able to hold you without the constant tangle of wires. Dancing around that hospital room for the first time before being discharged with you…free of wires and cords was a feeling I will never forget. Our little fighter, so strong and sweet, we love you more than words can ever express!!!!

Bad bad blogger lol

Well there is no excuse...ok actually there is it's just not that good lol. I had this whole long post written out ages ago about my baby's birth story...it got lost in cyberspace somewhere and I just haven't been able to blog because I hadn't blogged the birth story yet. I'm over that now though lol. I will give you a short recap and then we can get on with blogging ok? (Not like anyone's reading anyway lol!)

Our baby girl is here, her name is Madison Joy and she entered the world at 8:44 am June 13th weighing 8 pounds and 1.4 ounces. We were due to be induced that same morning so she decided to wait until she got the eviction notice before leaving lol. The labor was only about 13 hours (much better than my first dd at 26!) and after 6 hours I got an epidural. Can I just say WOW!!! What a difference.

Unfortunately we had complications during the delivery. Her heartrate was going up and down and finally it stayed down and would not come back up and when they broke my water they also found out that she had passed meconium. So we had to hurry things a bit. I was only 8 to 9 cms when they told me I had to start pushing. The rooms was full of specialists and thankfully with the assistance of the doctors, nurses and specialists and the vacuum she was born. It felt like forever before we heard her cry but she finally did and all was well for the moment.

The rest of the story is part of a layout I did which I will post next. For now here is our little Angel Madison Joy:
